Julia Carroll, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Julia Carroll is known for her ethical and natural approach to beauty. She is the best-kept secret of many Canadian women who lover her for her subtle but effective rejuvenation treatments. She is the “go to” for media and frequently appears on The Marilyn Denis Show, ET Canada and The Global Morning Show.

Dr. Carroll is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (FRCPC) and an active member of the Canadian Dermatology Association, Toronto Dermatologic Society, American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons and the American Academy of Dermatology. Besides her busy dermatology practice, she is also on staff at the University of Toronto Medical School.

Dr. Carroll completed her dermatology training at the University of Toronto. Prior to her dermatology training she completed medical school at Dalhousie University, graduating Alpha Omega Alpha, and also attained a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Acadia University.

Michael Cecchini, MD, FRCPC
Uncovering Hidradenitis Suppurativa in clinical practice – a deep dive in diagnosis and treatment

Dr. Cecchini is a board-certified dermatologist practicing in Richmond Hill, ON. He has a special interest in the medical and surgical management of patients suffering from hidradenitis suppurativa, and is motivated to help with the development of new therapeutics for HS patients through his active involvement as a clinical trialist.

Tiffany Chen, MD, FRCPC, DABD

Dr. Tiffany Chen, MD, FRCPC, DABD, is a board-certified dermatologist in Canada and the United States. She received her Honours B.Arts Sc. and MD from McMaster University. She completed her dermatology residency at the University of Toronto and served as chief resident in her final year. Dr. Chen is a lecturer at the University of Toronto and an associate dermatologist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

Dr. Patrick Fleming is a dermatologist with focus on inflammatory skin disease including psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, & prurigo nodularis. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto. He completed residency at the University of Toronto where he was Chief Dermatology Resident and concurrently completed the Global Clinical Scholars program in Clinical Trials at Harvard Medical School. He also holds a Master’s degree in Community Health, a Graduate Certificate in Medical Education, and was the Gold Medalist in medical school. He is an Associate Editor the Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Fleming’s research background includes systematic reviews and he is an investigator for dermatology clinical trials.

Sam Hanna, MD, DABD, FAAD
Transforming Our Understanding of Seborrheic Dermatitis: Topical Management Update

Dr. Hanna grew up in Toronto but completed his medical and dermatology specialty training in the US.  He practiced there for almost a decade before returning home to Toronto to establish his Dermatology practice.  Dr. Hanna has been practicing medical, aesthetic and investigational dermatology for over 20 years.  He has been principal investigator in over 40 clinical trials in many aspects of inflammatory skin disease. 

 He is the Medical Director of Dermatology on Bloor, a large single-specialty dermatology practice in downtown Toronto.  He is adjunct clinical faculty in the Division of Dermatology, Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto where he serves as co-lead for Undergraduate Medical Education.  

Dr. Hanna is past-president of the Toronto Dermatological Society, serves on the OMA section of Dermatology Board and has been secretary of the Canadian Dermatology Association and chaired many committees there. 

Farheen Mussani, BHSc, MD, FRCPC, DABD, FAAD
Transforming Our Understanding of Seborrheic Dermatitis: Topical Management Update

Dr. Mussani began her academic career when she attended the University of Western Ontario where she received a Bachelor of Health Sciences as the Gold Medalist and Presidents National Scholar. She completed medical school at the University of Toronto and graduated with honours. Dr. Mussani then pursued her residency at the University of Toronto in Dermatology. She served as Chief Resident for her program and won awards in both Clinical Research and Health Advocacy. She was a recipient of the prestigious Canadian Dermatology Foundation Grant during her residency and has also received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for her voluntary service. She has authored articles in multiple different journals including the Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery, Dermatitis and Rheumatology.

Dr. Mussani is a board certified dermatologist in both Canada and the United States. She holds a Dermatology Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct) in Dermatology at McMaster University.

Sanjay Siddha, MD, FRCPC
Update on Identifying, and Managing Patients with Melanoma in 2024

Dr. Sanjay Siddha is an Assistant Professor and Staff dermatologist at the University Health Network and Women’s College Hospital with over 20 years of experience in Dermatology.

He has vast international experience in the Dermatology field and has previously worked at Glasgow & Aberdeen in the United Kingdom before moving to Canada.

Dr. Siddha has received various teaching awards:

  • Bernice Rose Krafchik Teaching award (University of Toronto Outstanding Clinical teacher).
  • Canadian Dermatology Association: Excellence in clinical teaching award.
  • Ranked for consecutive years in the top quintile of teachers at the University of Toronto.

Juthika Thakur MD, FRCPC, FAAD
Atopic Dermatitis Management and Referral Pathways for Primary Care Physicians

Dr. Thakur is a double US and Canadian board-certified dermatologist at the Canadian Dermatology Centre, recognized for her expertise in medical dermatology (dermatitis, psoriasis, acne, rosacea) as well as digital health solutions. She has presented at several national and international conferences, including the World Congress of Teledermatology (2022), World Congress of Dermatology (2023), and the Canadian Women in Dermatology Leadership Summit. Dr. Thakur has worked on implementation of digital health platforms, including ConnectingOntario. Dr. Thakur’s extensive education from Western University, the Ivey School of Business, and McMaster University informs her work as a consultant for companies utilizing AI in dermatology. She brings this unique knowledge base and a genuine passion to her medical practice, where she is now welcoming new patients.

Jennifer Tran, MD, FRCPC, DABD
Acne: Improving Treatment Tolerability and Efficacy with Skincare

Dr. Jennifer Tran is a double board-certified dermatologist with knowledge in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Tran completed her undergraduate training in Health Sciences at McMaster University. She then completed her medical degree and subsequently her dermatology residency at the University of Toronto, where she served as chief resident during her final year of training. She is a Clinical Associate at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and an appointed Lecturer at the University of Toronto. She has published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and presented at international dermatology conferences.

Her practice includes dermatologic conditions such as melanoma, eczema, and acne, as well as cosmetic procedures such as Botox and fillers.
